seeing the way fandom is treating melanie is literally. so disheartening. jonny got as close to explicitly saying “the blind prophet is a bad trope do not apply it to this character” as he could and people are going “oh! cool title!” anyway. melanie is one of very few blind characters ive been happy with in source material – she keeps her autonomy and she doesn’t have any form of magic vision – and fan portrayals brushing that aside for jokes is super upsetting
