throwback to my bioarcheology course where we each had to do a presentation on a burial related to disability/illness and how it reflected on the skeletal remains and how it would have affected quality of life
one guy did his presentation on a young girl who had lived in the bronze age and, among other issues, had a condition that caused her femur to grow wrong. the student presenting went “It would have had a psychological effect on her because she would have walked FUCKED UP and WEIRD and everyone would have MOCKED AND LAUGHED AT HER all the time!”
She had the same condition I had. 😐
