professor was telling us about the digs he went on and how, during one, he was working with a french and spanish team. the french didn’t speak spanish and the spanish didn’t speak french. BUT some of them from both teams had taken german so they just ended up communicating in a weird hodge podge of latin, german, and some english when they needed the others to check something out.
