before i actually listened to TMA i was under the impression that, since everyone talked about her online, gertrude was still alive. i was like “oh, she faked her death. she’s the one hiding around the archives” but in my defense “using another old woman’s desiccated body to fake my death” isn’t out of the realm of possibility for gertrude.
