do you think the people of lothering never turned hawke or bethany (or malcolm) in because they were afraid of what carver might do if they did. not like, ‘carver is vindictive and evil’ type of way but ‘carver would probably tear our farmhouse apart, piece by piece, if we did this’ kind of way. just wondering.
