the more I think about the dark/the people’s church of the divine host the funnier it gets. Actual Real Life Historical Figure edmund halley is a cult leader whos followers serve their god by unscrewing lightbulbs. they talked the followers of different powers into launching a god damn space mission with them so they could build an Evil Sun. they probably went “oh great, this place has 4 months with no sun” but despite probably having one or the highest scientist avatar:total avatar ratio, it didn’t occur to them that it must have the same length of time without the sun going down at all in summer. most of the darks acolytes — including their leader, Bodyhopping Noted Historical Scientist Edmond Halley are killed by, like, normal people with guns. not even like mike crew getting killed by daisy, just like Normal People with Normal Guns. maybe the real circus was the dark all along
