so my mom read her 23 and Me results and she’s not 93% Ashkenazi Jewish, but 93% of the people she matched with are Ashkenazi.

However, her genetic breakdown is 40% Ashkenazi Jewish. Which is really high, considering nobody we know about in our family is Jewish. Her ancestors came over to NY in the 20s from the Czech Republic and Poland, and records before that aren’t available. I could try an ancestry.com website, but idk if it’s worth spending money.

All in all it doesn’t actually affect me at all, but it was a surprise.
