kind of funny how king tut is only so famous now because he died so young. 

i mean…. there’s also the huge burial chamber full of untouched gold and the popular mask.

oh yea.
but because he died so suddenly they were in a rush to bury him so he could go to the afterlife. which meant he got a pre-built tomb meant for someone else. so the outer tomb at first glance not looking like it was for a rich god-king + flooding meant it wasn’t completely looted by the time carter found it.

if he had died later on a tomb would have already been prepared and would probably have been completely looted by now
