anyway, academically the most spiteful thing i’ve done is when i took english my first year of college and the professor took points off a quiz b/c of some reading comprehension shit about who wore makeup in ancient egypt. it was true or false or something. can’t remember the specifics except i lost a point because i put down men and women wore makeup as pharaohs and this old man said i was wrong because men were pharaohs, not women.
and i got pissed off b/c i?? deserved that point??? and he was just straight up wrong???
so i argued it and cited sources and he finally relented and gave me the point back. (it didnt even mean much tbh the quiz was worth pretty much nothing but it was the fucking principle of it now)
but then i was pissed off b/c he gave me the point but commented that the women pharaohs weren’t really pharaohs, they were just queen regents. (many women rulers in egypt WERE regents. but there were several woman pharaohs)
so i had to have the last word and for the essay (supposed to be approx. two pages.) i wrote six pages on hatshepshut and repeatedly stated how she was a successful pharaoh. how she was, explicitly, a pharaoh. not a queen regent. not a queen. a pharaoh. every time i got tired and tried to put off the essay i reminded myself that my professor would have to read it and be reminded that i was right
the moral of this story is i will go to absurd lengths to get the last word in about trivial things
